The Lady Tigers have advanced to the Elite 8 in their side of the bracket after defeating Wimberley in three games 25-18, 25-22 and 25-16. Outstanding play by all the guys. La Shonda Fritzgerald was dominating at the net. The girls will travel to San Antonio on Friday to take on Boerne. Boerne defeated Devine in three games to earn a trip to the regional semi-finals. Looking down the line there is a possibility that Sealy could meet up for a rematch with Columbus as they too have advanced and will face Fredericksburg. Columbus plays at 1:00 with Sealy hitting the court at 3:00. Games will be played at the Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio. This is Sealy's second trip in as many years to the regional semi-finals. They lost to Liberty Hill who advanced to the final four last year. Congrats to Coach Vaden and the girls.
Congratulations to Colton Gajewski as he took home a 7th place finish in the State Cross-Country Meet. Shout -Out to Coach Rocha as well. Good job guys.
The Lady Tigers Volleyball team defeated number #6 ranked Canyon Lake to advance to the Regional quarterfinals against Wimberley on Tuesday. The Girls dropped the first game 16-25 but came roaring back to grabbed three in a row. 27-25, 25-22 and 25-22 to take the win. This win sends the girls up against a tough Wimberley team that defeated El Campo in four games. This game will be played at Bastrop HS on Tuesday night This round is known as the sweet 16 and the winner advances to the Elite 8 in San Antonio. Good Luck Ladies.
The Tigers defeated the Wheatley Wildcats 66-7. The Tigers dominated on both sides of the ball. Wallace, Eckhardt and Davis all had a big night. Will Cerny and Kobe Aguado led the defense. The Tigers closed out the regular season at 4-1 in district and 5-5 overall. They will face Needville in the opening round of the playoffs on Thursday November 12th 7:00 at Guy Traylor Stadium in Rosenburg Texas
The Tigers(3-1, 4-5) travel to Houston to finish out the regular football season against the Wheatley Wildcats (2-2, 5-4) The football playoffs start next week and early predictions have the Tigers meeting up with an old foe in the Needville Bluejays in the bi-district round. First things first and that's a strong finish tonight. Pre-game and Coaches Corner start at 6:45 followed by the kick-off at 7:00
Tonight the Lady Tigers travel to Cedar Creek HS to take on the Canyon Lake Lady Hawks in the Area round of the 2015 playoffs. The girls defeated Brazosport in 3 games on Tuesday setting up the rematch between these two teams. Canyon Lake defeated Taylor also in 3 games. The Lady Hawks bring a 13-0 record into tonight's game and are currently ranked 6th in the state. The winner advances to the regional quarterfinals and play the winner of the Wimberly vs El Campo game. Court Talk at 5:45 followed by the first serve, set for 6:00
The Lady Tigers will travel to George Jr High in Richmond Tx to take on Brazosport in the bi-district opening round of the Texas 4a State Volleyball Championship on Tuesday November 2nd 7:30. This is the second game of the evening with Columbus playing Sweeny at 6:00
The Tigers handled the Furr Brahmans as expected and sent them home with a 63-23 loss. Wallace, Eckhardt and Davis all ran for over 100 yards a piece with the Tigers pushing almost 500 yards in total offense on parents night. The win pushes their district record to 3-1 and overall 4-5. The win closes out the home schedule and next week they will close out the regular season on the road against Wheatley. The Tigers defeated the Wildcats last season 32-0. The Tigers will face possibly Needville or Columbia in the bi-district round of the play-offs on November 13th
The Lady Tigers hosted the Columbus Cardinals and it was the redbirds in three games. Sealy never settled in and Columbus was in a groove as they defeated Sealy in front a packed house. Plenty of college scouts seen in the stands to watch this game. Coach Vaden while disappointed over the loss she welcomed the opportunity to play a team as talented as Columbus. Sealy gets the #2 seed and will face the # 3 seed in district 28
The Tigers will host the Furr Brahmans ( 1-2, 4-4) this Friday in the final home game of the season. The Tigers hit the road next week in the regular season final. With the play-offs starting the following week.
The girls took the show on the road last night to El Campo and defeated the Lady Ricebirds in three games 25-19, 26-24 and 25-20. The girls trailed in the early games but came from behind to set up a game 3. Grabbing an early lead it looked like Sealy would have an easy time but EC held their own and made it close. In the end the girls secured the win and will meet Columbus at home this Friday at 5:00 to determine a district champion and #1 seed to start the play-offs
Colton Gajewski crossed the finish line at the Regional Cross Country meet in a time of 17:11. That was good enough for a 6th place finish and a trip to the state meet on November 11th in Round Rock. Congrats to Coach Rocha for a great season. And good luck to Colton as he goes after a medal next month and to all members of the team for their hardwork.
The Lady Tigers Volleyball team went to five games on the Road against Columbus but came up on the losing end. After winning the first game 25-21 they fell 23-25, 17-25 before winning the 4th 25-16 but it was Columbus who won the 5th 5-15. This gave Sealy a piece of the district crown at the very least. They travel to El Campo next Tuesday. A win gives then a share of the crown and sets up a final game to determine the #1 seed and district bragging rights.
Sterling came into Sealy in second place, but went home on the losing end 55-12 on Homecoming Night. The Queen for 2015 was Maria Gomez and King Jason Almeida. Congrats to both of them. And to the entire court and underclass representatives.
The Tigers (2-4) gave Navasota (6-0) all they could handle and more but in the end it was Navasota who prevailed in this match-up 31-7. Lots of first for both teams. Sealy forced 3 punts and kept the blue chipper Shelton Eppler in check forcing him to run out of the pocket all night. Good showing for the Tigers as Navasota coach Lee Fedora stated " Sealy always plays us tough".
The Tigers handed the Eagles a 55-6 loss at home and get ready to tangle with the #1 team in the state the Navasota Rattlers
Sealy (1-4) hosts the Washington Eagles (2-3) in the first game of the district schedule at TJ Mills Stadium. Last year the Tigers traveled to Houston to take on the Eagles and came away with a shut-out win 58-0. After a surprisingly good showing against the undefeated Giddings Buffaloes losing 38-35 the Tigers enjoyed a bye week and look to get back in the win column.
The Tigers (1-3) host an old familiar foe in the Giddings Buffaloes. Tonight is also the dedication of the TJ Mills Stadium. The Mills family will be on hand. A helicopter fly-by and Fireworks at halftime to add o the festive occasion.
The Sealy Tigers (1-2)travel across the Mill Creek to take on the Bellville Brahmas (1-2) in a non-district game. This is the 77th meeting between these cross county rivals with Bellville holding a 46 to 30 edge including the last three games.
